Winter Season: Ski centers



The Andes mountain range is settled alongside chilean border. It offers the opportunity to practice snow sports in winter season. So if you love this extreme and cold life don’t miss to visit our ski centers between June and early September. Also, have concious that are the best parks in South America.

In the mountain town Farellones, located 35 km away from Santiago, you will find 3 ski centers :

Valle Nevado:

This is the largest park in the continent with 9.000 hectares with more than 30 tracks of different levels. Here you will find a modern infrastructure. The hotel, shelters and restaurants will improve your experience after enjoying the mountain.

La Parva:

Nowadays this ski center is the one who gathered the most amount of people in winter because the great offer of shelters and apartments. It has 30 tracks with a surface of 38 kms. You can ride around 4 kms in the largest one called  “Barros Negros”. In the other hand, the park offers 5 restaurants, one bar and a ski rental if you don’t have equipment.

El Colorado:

This park has all kind of tracks. The different levels allows everyone who wants to enjoy white sports. Also is the favorite for riders because of its famous snowpark. This ski center with 1.00 hectares and 100 tracks has 19 world class lifts.

Considered as one of the best ski centers throughout South America, besides having perfect snow, has all the services for skiing or snowboards: rental equipment, shops, schools, restaurants, pubs, among other things.


Known to be the oldest ski center in all South America, Portillo is a little further away than the centers mentioned above. Very close to the border with Argentina, 160 kilometers from Santiago, Portillo also has the privilege of having hosted a World Ski Championship. This center has about 30 tracks, on an area of 500 hectares. The complicated thing is that in case of heavy snow, it is impossible to access, due to the fact that it is located in the Andes Mountain. Besides, the center has 2 restaurants, 1 store, 1 ski and snowboard school and a clinic for emergencies.
